Pick-Up: Not Selected: Thursday, January 12, Noon to 6:00 p.m.

                  Selected: Monday, March 6, Noon – 6 p.m.

Show Dates: Saturday, January 21 – March 4 

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 21, 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

 

Drawing, painting, pastel, printmaking, photography,

sculpture, fiber, mixed-media works are eligible.

Juror: Lynn Palumbo

Lynn Palumbo has lived and worked in the Hudson Valley for over 30 years. She has taught art at Manhattanville College, East Stroudsburg University and currently at Dutchess Community College where she also served as director of the Washington Art Gallery. During that time she organized student and faculty exhibits, a 50th year alumni exhibit and curated shows with faculty members across disciplines. She originated exhibits and artists talks on contemporary drawing, printmaking, and poetry.

Her paintings and drawings have been exhibited recently at the Bertha Lederer Gallery at SUNY Geneseo, the SUNY Albany Art Museum, the Hyde Collection, Madelon Powers Gallery at East Stroudsburg University, Roxbury Art Center and the Atwater Gallery in Rhinebeck. Solo exhibits have been at Dutchess Community College, Schenectady Museum and at Deep Listening Space, Oliveros Foundation in Kingston. She received a BFA in painting/printmaking from Ohio State University and an MFA in painting from SUNY New Paltz.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:

Members may submit up to three artworks in person for consideration.  Only original work submitted in display condition will be considered. 2-D artwork must be properly mounted, framed and ready to hang.  For 3-D pieces that do not stand independently on the floor, Barrett pedestals may be available.  Should our limited inventory be insufficient, the artist must supply his/her own pedestal, podium, or tabletop with appropriate draping for presentation and display.  Barrett Art Center reserves the right to refuse any selected artwork that does not meet its display criteria. 

Each submitting artist must have a current active membership for the duration of the Juried Members’ Show. 

Entry Fee: BAC members-$10 each work, up to three. Check or money order may be made payable to Barrett Art Center

Works previously shown in Crenson Gallery Juried Members’ Shows may not be re-submitted for another Crenson Gallery Juried Members’ Show. Works that have been on display at BAC previously may be submitted. 

Submission Dates and Times: Works must be submitted between Noon and 6:00 p.m. on the Monday two weeks before the exhibition opening. Artists may appoint a friend or other agent to drop-off and/or pick-up works if they are unable to do these tasks themselves.  The agent or friend will need to sign for the works. If an artist or a proxy is unable to bring work to BAC on Monday, work may be submitted on the preceding Saturday from Noon to 3:00 p.m. by appointment only. Call BAC one week ahead of drop-off to make the necessary arrangements.

 Notice of Acceptance: A list of artists and works that have been juried into a show will be email notification after 4pm on the Wednesday following submission. 

Pick-up Dates and Times: For works not selected by juror for a show - please pick up work between Noon and 6 p.m. the Thursday following submission. For selected works included in a show - please pick up work between Noon and 6pm the Monday following the close of the show. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Barrett Art Center is unable to store work after exhibition ends.  Artist(s) will be charged $20 late fee per day. In the absence of reasonable attempts to retrieve artwork, works left more than 30 days after the closing without prior approval will become property of Dutchess County Art Association/Barrett Art Center.

ADDITIONAL JURIED MEMBERS’ SHOW INFORMATION:

Sale of artwork on display: Participating artists are encouraged (but not required) to display works for sale. Member artists receive 75% of the sale price, Barrett retains 25% sales commission.

Insurance: Loaned artwork is insured under BAC’s policy while residing in our gallery. The insurance value is equal to a maximum of 50% of the retail selling price up to a maximum of $1500.00. For work that is on loan but not for sale, the insurance value is the appraised market value; a certified appraisal must be provided to Barrett Art Center in the event of damage or loss to submit a claim.
