Barrett Art Center presents four solo shows in the Crenson Gallery annually. Artists are selected from over one hundred applicants by leading arts professionals. 

Julie Mihaly is a resident of Poughkeepsie, New York. A book of her works featured in this solo show, titled,  Radius: One Year, Five Miles, is available via Blurb at http://www.blurb.com/b/8759348-radius  

Ms. Mihaly began her career as a fine art photographer who, after earning an MFA from The San Francisco Art Institute, went on to teach photography at The School of Visual Arts, The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and Rutgers University before jumping into the world of magazines. During her years as a photo director, editor and researcher, she contributed to publications ranging from Vanity Fair to Garden DesignVogue to BillboardSpy to Entertainment WeeklyBudget Living to Reader's Digest et al.

Her organizational skills and passion for decor, crafts and writing evolved into work as a managing editor, craft editor, photo stylist/producer and contributing feature writer and columnist for magazines such as Martha Stewart LivingGoodHousekeeping.comIn Style HomeOprah at Home, etc.

After moving to the Hudson River Valley in 2010, Mihaly returned to the more full time pursuit of her own photography garnering attention with a number of recent exhibitions and the publication of a book of her earlier black-and-white work. She's also the creator/designer of, and frequent contributor to , BoomUnderground.com, an online magazine that features smart and humorous takes on what it is and was like to be a member of "the generation that shook the status quo."
